Levitikus

Rocking tunes with a unique Boston/Coldplay combo influence.

Levitikus is a Jewish-American rock band that bases its music on classic and modern rock while still maintaining a Jewish identity. Music is all about communication, and Levitikus recognizes this, so they make it a point to write most of their songs with English lyrics. Sometimes they integrate English lyrics with Hebrew scripts feeling that it helps us relate to the scripts better. Their songs often deal with religious themes though some do not. They don't feel that any song they write needs to have a Jewish theme to it, so long as it doesn't contradict any. In music songs aren't always meant to be understood the same way by everyone.

Levitikus is notorious for writing emotional songs. They explain that the reason for this, is that when writing a song one is usually inspired or in somewhat of an emotional state. You don't just put a time slot for songwriting into your schedule. Levitikus' music ranges from soft acoustic guitar riffs to hardcore solos. They do not limit themselves to a particular tempo; rather they appreciate the beauty of both soft or slow tunes as well as fast hard songs. You can always count on Avi for writing a perfect guitar solo which is never an identical replica of the songs tune, yet it always fits in astonishingly well. The bass and drumming are always tight and the keyboard adds richness to the sound.

This album incorporates many different influences ranging from the beatles, to the rolling stones, led zeppelin, simon & garfunkel, the who, boston, queen, kansas, the police, u2, velvet undergroung, the ramones, jet, cheap trick, jimi hendrix, montrose, blue oyster cult, ted nugent, big star, zz top, steve miller band, alice cooper, deep purple, pink floyd, billy joel, van halen, aerosmith, g'n'r, ac/dc, def leppard, kiss, nirvana, oasis, coldplay, switchfoot, joe satriani, the dave matthews band, 3 Doors Down, the Goo Goo Dolls, nochi krohn, avram rosenblum & the diaspora yeshiva band, yossi piamenta, the moshav band, soulfarm and many more.

As a band Levitikus feels that in certain ways they are pioneers in their branch of music. They can only hope that any innovations which they contribute will influence and inspire future songwriters, and that their music is appreciated by its listeners.
