Additionally, this day is the day we celebrate the life of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, one of the greatest sages throughout history who gave us guidance in Torah and continues to teach us through his teachings still today. In Meron, the burial place of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai there is a huge celebration on Lag Baomer with music and dancing for hours on end.
