Rav Nachman studied under Shmuel in Nehardea and Rabbah bar Abuha. He later became a Dayan and head of the Yeshiva in Nehardea. He was a well-respected judge known for his decisiveness, halachik rulings, humility, and generosity to Sages and guests.
